Standard of Care

I got sick in December and was sick most of January.  So I finally went to one of those weekend clinics.  They have a sign that reads emergency clinic .... that said, it is not an emergency clinic.   But they build me as if it was.

They billed my insurance about $300 dollars, and send me a bill for another $30.

The reasons that its not an emergency clinic are these;  There is no triage nurse and there is no triage.  Triage, that means you attend the sickest person first.  This is not the case, you sign up and you sit down and they will call you in a few hours.

They gave me a Zpack for a stubborn cough, and did a quickie test for Influenza.  They said it was negative, then they said they treated me for it.  Legally they are suppose to report cases of Influenza, flu, to the local authorities, on account of the epidemic and the deaths.

These popular clinics are nice, but do not qualify as emergency under any circumstances, they are opened on weekends and late hours and that is all.  They have no nursing staff and I suspect they use student doctors.

That is why we need Obama care, so every Tom, Dick and Harry cant have one.
