Sounds confusing, as my old teacher use to say, "clear as mud". Apparently our local educational machine has a human component that is incapable of teaching, anything. However, they are very good at making our tax dollars disappear. I dont know how much it cost to teach a student, I do know I havent had a kid in school for years. But the local government keeps raising the taxes, when they arent raising taxes, they are busy increasing the property value. This is a big scam to me, and beyond this, it is taxation without representation. So I would change this.
I would charge the parents by taxing them the magic number, $8000. I would charge those with children the 8K, those of childbearing age 7K , those that graduate their kids in 3 years, I would credit their taxes by the same amount.
Those homeowners whose children graduate from High School in four years, have to pay the tax for another 4 years, those that graduated their kids in 3 years, have to pay the tax another 3 years. Absolutely no student will be allowed within 1 mile of a school if they dropout.
Dropouts, will be assessed a dropout tax, and they will be denied a driver's license for 4 years. They will also be denied alcohol or entry into a bar until the age of 22. Only students that are graduating in 3 years will be allowed to drive a car to school. Otherwise students will not be allowed to drive to school or take the school bus.
Teachers will be compensated for every graduate, that they taught. If the student graduates in 3 years, they get $4K dollars, if they graduate in 4 years they get, $2K dollars. If the student goes to college and gets an associate degree, they will get $1K dollars, If the students are working in that field, the teacher will get an additional $1K dollars. If the student graduates from the University with a degree in science,the teacher will get another $2K dollars, If they get a master the teacher gets $ another $1K dollars and if the student get a PhD the teacher gets another $1K dollars. If the student gets a degree in education and teaches in the public schools, or college, the teacher will get, $3K dollars.
Entry into the university will be controlled by the teachers, All HS. teachers must unanimously agree that the student is university material. Only this will allow the student to apply for a student loan.
Teachers will also be rewarded if students complete a trade and becomes licensed, ex, electrician, plumbers, A&C, automotive.
Reward will be given for results, not for attendance.
Doesnt this give every taxpayer something to talk about?
