Ashley's

Ashley's is a furniture store on Airways.  And I have a beef with them.  I have bought furniture there once or twice.

So to the heart of the matter, When you buy a piece of furniture from them they want all the money up front.  They will then call you when it comes in, in two weeks!  When you take it home if there is anything wrong with it, they will take it back and send it back and take another two weeks to deliver.

My beef is this, it should be unlawful for them to demand payment in full, up front, and then take two weeks to deliver.   They take no risk ..... the accounting here should have cash in, $$$$, and the second entry should be accounts payable $$$$, When the furniture is delivered or they assume possession, then the accounts payable is debited and the furniture credited.

One chair I bought was caddywompus, so I took it in through the front door and told them to just exchange it for the one on the floor and they refused, they wanted me to get a permission slip, and take it back to the mfg, for repair or exchange.    But due to my insistence  they had the boy do it.

At first they suggested that my assembly skills were deficient, but I reminded that I had five others and they were not caddywompus.

Anyway I just dont think it should be legal to demand 100%, at most they should only be allowed to ask for 50%.  This is fair and equitable.

Now the furniture is made in china so they should have chinese script next to the Ashley's and a dragon separating them.  Now nothing against the chinese but they are bad at making furniture.   It isnt a major detail its a minor detail, cosmetic defects;  the doors are out of alignment.  In kitchen appliances the problem carries, the little knobs that lite the stove lack durability.  So it is a
a QA problem.

How say you all?
