You would think a great journalist like CR would walk a tighter rope.  Today he spoke with someone about generic drugs.

The case is before the supreme court.  A Lady sued the drug mfg. co. because the generic drug that she consumed has left her disabled, blind and requiring help with all her activities of daily living.  The drug mfg. insist that they should not be sued because they sell generics and it is an exact copy of the original companies' chemistry.

Now I would suppose that the suit is based on what the label reads?  But as luck would have it, what is on the label is not what is in the bottle all of the time.  I have no idea what was in her bottle and evidently it was bad chemistry, bad pharmacology.  I have had the opportunity of calling the pharmacist and telling him that he sent me the wrong medication, they come and get it, and bring the right one.

However there are thousands of medicines, so many that no one person could possibly know them all.  And different manufacturers make the same medicine in different colors, and shapes.   Many of those medications, dont work, never did.  Many of the ones that do work are discontinued because the profit margin is compromised.

Now to my knowledge the Supreme Court judges have no expertise in this field.  The FDA is supposed to be the authority but, like the whores they are, they sell our lives for cash.   For the head of FDA to go on national TV and say, she cant guarantee any medication as safe, is criminal.  She admits to being reckless with out lives.

And we pay them so much money.  So Charlie you are a niece guy, charming man, and a nice man ......  But the pharmaceutical industry needs to be held accountable.  Charlie they will not give you and honest answer, you have to take it, go home Charlie.  I want to remember you as you were.
