Leadership Cults and Culture was copyright in 2003, by Anne Deering, Robert Dilts, Julian Russell and it was embraced by the Leader to Leader Institute. Anyway when we talk of cost containment and expenses it certainly sheds light on our Legislators, both the house and the senate.
I think these quotes deserve a place in our political forum. Sadly I learned none of this in my polysci class back in the day ...... Im a victim of public education.
' In a cult a leader, there is room for only a few people to be leaders, and the credit for success is confined to the leader or to a few key individuals at the top. There are no plans or ongoing efforts to develop future leaders through, for example, the delegation of important initiatives.'
"Leadership cultures are self-sustaining'
'Cults are frequently based on the perception of fundamental inequality between people. They are founded upon a hierarchy in which people at the top are regarded as inherently better than those at other levels. As a result, people other than the leader are viewed as dispensable entities that can be easily replaced. The leader's welfare and interests come before those of the community."
And so I say to you that the congress of the United States and the Senate of the United States are a cult. They are also the biggest expense to the country, not only because they vote the party line, but because they refuse to work.
The party line begins with the President goes through the Supreme Court, the Congress and the Senate. The Vice President is the president of the senate and votes in case of a tie. We like to think that by electing a democratic president and a republican congress that this will insure a certain amount of the peoples wants and needs to manifest as law. This doesnt work and it especially doesnt work when the congress is equally divided between the republicans and democracts. It doesnt work when we have a republican house and a democratic senate.
What has the possibility of working is a third party ..... but this is only possible if the third party is not subservient to the other two.
This shows that our plan is broken, our constitution. We have congressman from states that are republicans and for the most part they will be republican. On occassion they say I am not a republican, I am a moderate, or a conservative. What was referred to as, "on the fence". The number of congressman are based on the population, thats why we have a census. It is now a static number at 465 because it would otherwise be impossible to get them into one big building, well not so impossible, we do it all the time at football games.
The number of senators is fixed at two per state. Little state like Rhode Island has two and an unpopulated state like Alaska has two. A huge populated state like Texas has two for a population of 23,000,000 million. So the 5000 eskimos have as much political muscle as the 23,000,000 million Texans. They have more political muscle than Rhode Island. Alaska doesnt have a state income tax, they have a state distribution of income.
Rich people get unemployment checks .... a millionaire gets $11,000 dollars a month, thats the law. They are as a rule republicans, who are in the 13% tax bracket and make most of their income from investments and not from working. A perfect example is Romney .... he makes millions, he hides them in the Camian Islands so he doesnt have to pay taxes, he doesnt release his tax returns and he donates 19 million dollars to the church. Then has the nerve to say, I want to help the middle class. Unfortunately his actions do not reflect his words.
I understand that he was the governor of Mass, so Mass must be rolling in doe. So they should pay more income tax. But they have two senators and a big rock and their political muscle is well defined.
Yes congress is our political leprosy! And the Tea Party is not a medicine.
