Fiskars EA1111

I gotta tell you this are some very remarkable scissors, pruning shears.  You take it out of the carrier and it is quiet the tool.  From the gad-go, it has a bottle opener, a branch cutter, a wire cutter, regular scissors, a knife sharpener, the one side is stainless steel, and longer than the other pointed side, it has a dull tip so the sharp side does not go beyond it and pose any danger.  This is the tricky part, it can be separated, and the blue part, the tactical part, the weapon part is now a dagger and ready for a covert mission.  The Kevlar handles are the only problem, the handle holes are to small and difficult to get your hands in, there is no hilt, and no skull crusher, or pommel.

Compare this tool with the old, as good as they were, they just are not up to snuff and are the wrong tool for today's tactical needs.  The old scissors could cut a penny and were issued to medics to cut cast, splints.  They were also shiny stainless steel.

Can the Fiskar be improved, absolutely!  They should be able to cut a line, and seat belts.  It should have a pommel, to break glass, or skulls.  The handle needs to be longer and fit a gloved hand, the carrier should double as a hilt.  The edges could use a little titanium.  And the length of the dagger needs another two inches.

The dagger side should be easy to attach to a pole for fishing.  If the metal is titanium it can be used by divers.

There you have Department of Defense, Department of the Navy.  These can be issued to medics, soldiers, divers .....  they can be part of the tactical uniform.  They can be given to the soldier when he is released to reserve status and he can buy one should he lose it.

BTW I paid $6 bucks for this on clearance .... even with the few flaws.  There you have it generals, officers, now earn your pay.
