Welcome Canadians, two of you have come to my blog and we hope to hear more from you. I have been meaning to go to Canada for sometime, to Montreal. So maybe next year. I have some Canadian coins and plan on getting more of them. I otherwise dont know much about Canada.
The Spaniards mapped the coast of the US all the way to Canada very early in our history. The border was drawn by the Spaniards. It was called The Gran Canada, the n has a tilde. As the map got crowded the map makers began taking things off, first it was the The, than the gran, and finally dropped the tilde and it has been Canada every since.
Twenty years ago, I was called into the office and told that if I did not go work for them, that I would be out of a job because they were bringing in Canadian nurses. I told them I would take my chances, finally four nurses showed up. One worked with me, a male nurse. The two others worked else where but we got along and one worked the ER. The two I worked with were beautiful, one of them complained she didnt have a Visa but she got a Master Card. The one in the ER I never met but her stay was short. Apparently a God like doctor called and wanted her to admit the patient .....she tried to set him straight by telling him he had to go to Admission and refused to be transfered. He insisted she do it, the director agreed and she quite.
The male nurse told me he had no intention of ever going back. I lost track of the other girls. Not long after this the State of Texas passed an emergency bill that said the Canadian nurses would not be licensed automatically....apparently they all scored very low on their Nursing Exam. Their scores were so low that the Board of Nursing insisted they take the nursing exam in Texas and if they passed they would be licensed.
