Immigration is a problem for many countries .... especially those countries that look at it. Leaving on the border with Mexico I can say that immigration is a problem. Mexico is an anarchy, it has a drug economy, that includes other clandestine and violent things, like kidnapping, extortion, corruption. The only reason I care about what goes on in their country is that they bring these ideas with them when they come over to our side. The country reacts to this fear by arming itself. Their cartel wars are deadly, one would think they were in Syria, or Palestine .... or any other embattled country.
I went to Houston and could not help but run into some Indians, non-native Americans. These guys are not very law abiding. We stopped at a gas station and wanted to use the toilet but the store owner had a sign up that read, out of order. This is a public bathroom and the store is responsible for operating it. Thats the law, but apparently he found the law not to his liking and ignores it.
Then we went to a hotel and it was own by Indians from India. They were very nice but the entire family was there running the place, using the pool, and basically just one big tax shelter. Now these people were not here to mingle with Americans or become American, they were here to promote their own agenda, and it would not surprise me if some of them were illegal. Not that I dont like them as a group, hell I think some of the most beautiful women in the world live in Bollywood.
The thinking among many of these groups is you cant make any money working for somebody else, so they start a business. They do as a matter of culture bargain with you about price. But they have no intention of hiring a single American, they are here to promote the family.
The Chinese do the same thing, they import their labor, many of them illegally. They always open up a restaurant and hire the family. They have no intention of hiring outside the group.
The Muslims come and they want to wear their Burkas, they want to take their picture with their face covered for the drivers license. The Mexicans want the signs in Spanish.
The Canadians come down the rocky mountains. The Australians ask me if there is a way to accelerate their citizenship, I say join the Army, they are not willing to do that. I am always leery of people who leave their country, come to mine, but will not join the armed forces. Maybe we should give points for this.
So if you find yourself here for the New Years day celebration .... drink up. Happy New Year.
