Sometimes I still get teary eyed just thinking, 25% of my high school graduating class .... died in Viet Nam. I wont speak to you about war because it would be arrogant of me, you and I have different investments in this country, I was all in from the get go.
But I like to bring the concepts closer to home. Are you saying that you want to see that beautiful wife of yours in a burka, to make her property, to have the power to divorce her mearly by repeating I divorce you three times. Are you saying that you are prepared to see her get beaten by the religious police.
Yes the Quaran says some very idealistic things .... but the Muslim religious leaders will tell you how to think, did you not see the Iranians dying on the streets for protesting their religious civil right.
I know that you are not going to emigrate to the middle east because of the utopia offered in a book. The Quran is a fairy tale, not unlike the bible. Besides I cant see you giving up that cushy job, the fantasy lifestyle to attend a madrasa.
We are vested in our country differently, I have been to Viet Nam, Germany, Saudi Arabia. My son has been to Iraq, Afghanistan, Bahrain, and is going to Qatar for a year, His wife has been to Guantanamo, My niece has been to Georgia, to Afghanistan.
Remember talk is cheap because the supply exceeds the demand.
