Why would anyone want free health care? Does anyone know what it is? Certainly with all the mail people get and all the advertising on TV there can be no doubt that Health care is a business, an industry. On the one hand you have the bean counters and corporations that are out to make money and could care less about your health, and on the other you have the people that need health care and cant get it.
Imagine that young person with a serious case of acne, painful boils, pus oozing from his face, the scarring, and beyond this, the cruel rejections he gets from his peers, potential employers ..... this kid is not going to get a job selling burgers across the counter.
Obviously, he hasnt seen a doctor because he has no money and his appearance precludes him from gainful employment.
If he lives in El Paso, he can see a dermatologist but all of then want cash up front, they will only bill your insurance. They bill the insurance in their name and they are paid by the insurance. Then you wait, and three, four months later you get a check from the doctor. Your money was stolen, he had it for so many months and now, he returns it so you wont say he is a crook.
If you are an older person and have skin tags, they want $30 to remove each one.
If you have cancer .... youre fucked! The doctors want you to get chemotherapy because they make a lot of money, the hospitals want you to get it. A person can spend their lives earnings for some of these treatments. Clinging to life for another six months.
The Pharmaceutical industry makes drugs for treating cancer .... their is no money in finding a cure. The public donates billions to cancer research and have done so for years and not one iota of progress has been made. One vaccine for HPV has come out, Human papilloma virus, this is a cure for cervical cancer. But the series of drugs are about a thousand dollars.
This is the STD our kids get when they become sexually active, and if we fail to find out, or lack insurance or cash, years from now, they will be diagnosed with cervical cancer and die. This isnt just a female problem the boys will get esophageal cancer, and die in their own secretions.
Now some of these problems can be addressed with education, but our religious and puritanical, groups wont allow the subjects in the schools. The parents reserve the right to teach sex education.
Here in El Paso we have availed ourselves of a brand new $60 million dollar baseball field. But alot of the people that got this through will not be there, they have cancer and all those vaginal scrapings, and PAP smears will go unread. All those cancers will go undetected.
I could go on but I know that people dont read and have no intention of doing so. So buy your pink ribbons, get your tshirts, and run for breast cancer awareness.
Your parents might need a wheel chair but they are expensive, maybe $400 dollars a sum that most young people seem powerless to achieve. You are in luck a man in Israel has figured out a way to make them out of recycled cardboard, and for only $20 dollars. A doctor in Australia has figured out how to diagnose cancer by looking at your hair and nails. No biopsies! Early detection! No radiation!
But who needs Obama Care ...... You Do!
