Labor

Labor, anyone that does an honest day's work, knows that some jobs are less labor intensive than others.  The goal is to get as much money for the least amount of work.  But we as people just can't seem to keep from taking advantage of people and not paying them accordingly.  And I know it goes on anywhere so please, none of that, not in my backyard stuff.

The post man comes by almost daily and that organization, that government department is run by morons, congress, same difference.  However he delivers to my house at about 3pm, the hottest part of the day, today it was about 95 degrees.  The thing is he is made to carry a sachel with all the mail in it.  Im sure that one day soon, he will show up with carpel tunnel, from lugging our mail on his shoulder.  The thing is he should be able to pull or push a cart, a bicycle, and put the mail in that.  Imagine how long ago the wheel was invented and what a great invention it is.   You would think that only caveman would still be pulling or carring things if they didnt have too.   Obviously the postoffice is run by idiots who have no concern for the people that deliver our mail.

Here on the border with Mexico, the Mexicans are heartless when it comes to labor.   They dont pay them sometimes, they pay them less than minimum wage, and many of these maids are seniors.  On fridays the buses in some routes are filled by maids going home.

Some of these old ladies are crying because the patronas decided to pay them in hand-me-downs and not money.  They can barely carry their bags.  Thats right mexicans, Im talking about you.   In mexico there is no middle class and the rich people get rich by stealing from the poor.

They come here to live because their country is an anarchy, but they bring their maids and ruthless behavior with them.  And these scum of the earth are given citizenship.  Dual citizenship.

On any given day they use the american papers to get away from the Mexican officials and then use the mexican papers to avoid paying fines for speeding, and drunk driving.

I would not be so fast in giving citizenship, I would have a list of requirements.  I would insist that, they speak English fluently, that they read and write, I would insist on a level of numeracy.  I would not allow felons or frequent acts of misdomeners, I would insist that they register to vote, that they pay taxes, that they be able to swim, that they be free of chronic diseases, no TB, no aids, no people from aids hotspots, no mental retardation.  I would insist on learning history of the state and the US.   In fact I would put them on probation and have them come in every month.  Do drugs screens, health screens, check for traffic violations, criminal behavoir, religiousity, and return them to their home in the south pole.

So let it be written, so let it be done ....Yul Branner.
