Susan Martinez

Susan Martinez, 1st Hispanic Governor of New Mexico, 1st Female Governor of New Mexico.  Really, I thought for sure she would be on the ticket.  She's from the hood and a graduate of Riverside HS.  This is not a walk in the park.  It is a tough place to grow up in.  Riverside HS is also the alma matter of the present day Commanding General of Ft. Bliss.
First let me start with the General before I forget.  He is a black man and played football and was in the Debate Team and one day he found himself against Susie and he got his serving of jalapeno.  He says El Paso is the only place in the world where he was never called the N word.  But just a few weeks ago he stood before an audience and called our returning veterans, those that had taken their own lives, cowards!  Cowards for having taken their own lives and for taking the path of lease resistance.  Now I've know a few generals in my time, looked them in the eye, but I would not fight with this SOB and just to get the record straight he is a N!  And I ask all veterans to give him the one finger salute, yes even the black veterans.  We do not need or want such a man in our ranks.
I was in Viet Nam in the late 60's during the height of the civil rights movement, I saw and shared the pain of many of my black friends.  It was a scary place never knowing who you were going to shoot next but it was the Latinos that kept those fights from blowing up into full scale riots.  Everybody was armed.  I dont remember the general then?
Now Susan La Tejana ..... she says that she is concerned with education in her state.  I would be too, their school just lost their Nursing Accreditation, which means nurses in New Mexico can not practice in Texas, Arizona, Colorado and other such fine places.  The students are wondering what to do, its kind of like running for president and losing ..... where do you go from here.   Now lots of women in El Paso are very impressed with Susana, including our very own Estella Casas.

Estella was our neighbor when we were kids and I have known her since she was in diapers, I saw her grow up.   It took her 10 years to graduate from Jutep and her last class was business math.  I can understand why any American-Mexican would fall under the star power of Susie, she emits so much light and Latinos dont have all that many stars.  I knew her mom and saw her grow old, I saw her come to the cafeteria in the hospital to eat and be around people.  Cant imagine people going to Vista Kills for lunch .... but human companionship is our downfall .... sometimes those gods just dont do the trick.  I knew her mom in the ICU, Estela was already a star in the newscast, and it was after this that Estella finally capitulated, and took her mother in.
I dont dislike Susie and I can see her as president some day, she will become the Hillary we know as Secretary of State.

If I had to vote I would vote for Hillary and someday I may vote for Susie but not now.  She has no business at the RNC when her people are in the middle of a health care crisis.  She represents women, guess what?   Those nursing students are women and through no fault of their own, they are now in the political abyss, they have gone from aspiring nurses with a healthy future to second hand citizens.  Its show time Susie, this is not the debate team.  Welcome to the big leagues!  We play hard ball here.
I will ask Hillary, our Secretary of State, to go to New Mexico and help those nurses out ...... I have to go.  Lots to do ..... have to get things ready in case the president decides to bless us with his presences.

Mr. President, land in New Mexico, Albuquerque.  Talk to those women, those nursing students, they have just had the wind knocked out of them by politics as usual and they need to know, that what little money they had to buy a slice of American Pie is not a total lost.  Mr. President, bring with you some trees, the forest fires have ravaged New Mexico and millions of acres lie bare.  You would think all those republicans would have gotten their picture taken along with their families planting some trees.  Susie would you like some trees I know where you can get some.

It has been a while since I was last published as a nurse, it has been an even longer while since I took the NCLEX.  Yes those were the good old days, BA (before Alzheimers).  I scored a 2042, to give you an idea of how good this is, I dont think anyone in New Mexico has ever done this.  I can forget 25% of what I know and still provide the standard of care.

Susie you have gone over to the dark side, wont you come home?  You know you're doing us wrong.  And tell that Fat SOB from New Jersey to get on a diet and stop drinking all those giant sodas, and set the xample for our young kids.  He is a diabetic and his heart will probably give out before the election.

Oh and Susie, remember the camera will add 20 pounds, dont make the mistake of letting them zoom in with those HD cameras ....

And what the hell, Susie I challenge you to a debate .....you are supporting a man who wears magic underwear for the presidency  of the United States.  He believes that if a nuclear blast were to take place that he would be untouched because he is wearing a force field.  What about the rest of us, those of us that live in the real world, where our nursing schools are out of the competition, where the flames of politics burn through our not so magic nursing uniforms.
