What is happening? Our public schools are a mess and the school board isnt worth a damn. Our police department had 16 officers fired for embezzling federal funds in an overtime scandal and another was caught DWI this morning. Our city fathers wake up one morning and decided to tear down our municipal building. Now they are looking for a place to rent. They have decided to built a stadium downtown so they can bring in a team for a couple of local millionaires, even though we already have a big baseball field. They decided to guarantee a fight and put up $500K dollars of the taxpayers money. They decided to get $90 million to built a trolley car. Meanwhile our taxes keep going up.
You would think they would back off and wait for the economy to improve, what with California on the verge of bankruptcy and one of the large cities all ready broke. They already laid off 25% of their police force, the firemen, municipal employees. My block alone has 3 houses up for sale and no buyers. We have the cartels killing people almost daily with collateral damage to our buildings. And now, we have no healthcare!
Consumer Reports has just published its hospital ratings and three of our city hospitals made the list! The bottom of the list. LAS PALMAS, DEL SOL HEALTHCARE HAVE A SCORE OF 39, thats 39. Sierra Medical Center is 38. And last is Providence Memorial Hospital with a score of 36.
How should I interpret this information? Simple these hospitals dont meet minimal standards, they have no business pretending to be hospitals. Now a Medical Center has to meet certain criteria to call itself that. They have criteria for hospitals also.
Infections seem to be at the top of the list? But we are not at the bottom of the list, which means we have mediocre hospitals, not failure. We pay good money to these institutions. On top of this we give them tax abatements.
At one time we had Quality Assurance .... mostly because we had the right to sue. But doctors kept screaming and lobbying our state government,( the local union AMA) so now we have caps. That means you can sue but only for an amount that exceed the cost of the suit, so lawyers wont take your case.
Hospital care, the 3rd leading cause of death. Hell one of our hospital had no air conditioning for a week during our last heat wave. The unit broke. I'll let you guess which one. What about the Joint Commission on Hospital Accreditation .... what a joke.
I understand that one way of circumventing the joint commission is to provide a free lunch at some fancy restaurant ..... and they pick the most beautiful and curvy nurses to escort them. So they always get a good score. It would not surprise me, if they kept a list of call girls to come in and pretend to be nurses. So what does this make our Nursing Supervisors, PIMPS.
Is this not cause for the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners to intervene and give these Directors of Nursing, Peer Review? The CEOs in these hospitals make $13 million dollars each .... shouldnt we run them out of town. Should we not insist that they returned the money they charged for the care they obviously dont give. Should we not fine them? This is fraud. And what of the Hospital Medical Boards, should they not appear before the Texas Board of Medical Examiners.
Should we suspend insurance payments and federal payments until they deliver the healthcare they are suppose to.
Do we need Obama Care ....... Absolutely. Do we need Nurse Patient ratios, absolutely. Do we need to check their documents for their legal status and should we not throw them out of the country for failing the Healthcare Delivery? Do we need to restructure nursing school and get rid of those PhD? Especially the ones that granted a PhD to that idiot that came up with Energy Disturbance.
Hospitals control the local media, they print large ads and let the newspapers and TV stations get use to that big check and if they even sound like they are printing something unflattering .... they hold that check. They extort silence in this way.
Well El Paso, looks to me like you are fucked again!
