Spain vs Peru

Well the Spaniards picked up their treasure yesterday, all 500 million dollars in gold and silver coin, found, brought up as treasure by a US vessel.  I would like to think that it has nothing to do with Spain going broke and that no body is so stupid as to believe that 500million dollars will save Spain.

Back in 1492 Columbus sailed the ocean blue and shortly thereafter the King of Spain and the King of Portugal divided the world among themselves.  Their goal was to conquer and exploit the new lands and they did.  Spain had some very ambitious goals and they were the superpower of the day.  Until they ran into England and the Spanish Armada lost.  Then England became the superpower.

So they sent a very capable man to South America and he found Peru.  It was the time of the Incas, an old civilization that had been around for thousands of years.  The Spaniards were the terrorist of the time.  They had metal, they had gunpowder, and they had an enormous library.  The library had the record of all military encounters known to Spain, and they had one of the most evil sonsofbitches ever known.

When he got to Peru he sat about the business of rape, pillage, and plunder .... under his orders the Incas were slaughtered by the thousands, the Inca royalty were captured and killed, and the survivors enslaved at the gold mines.  The gold and silver taken was monetized and sent back to Spain.  Many of those ships never made the trip and were lost at sea, their treasure waiting for anyone with the courage and wherewithal to surrender.

Peru did submit to the Supreme Court of the United States a title to the treasure and accused Spain of stealing that gold and silver from them.  Everyone is aware that the gold and silver did belong to Peru, Spain has never had any gold or silver of its own.  But the treasure was picked up by the Spaniards about three days ago and Peru will resume its subservient existence.

If I was the President of Peru, I would declare war on Spain and nationalize all Spanish property in the name of the People of Peru, the Incas.

Imagine if Spain had gone to Peru in the Spirit of Friendship, had taught them about metals and blacksmith, had taught them ship construction and navigation, taught them Spanish, taught them about gunpowder.
Instead they drowned them in religion, emasculated the men, and made whores of the women.  500 million dollars and that was just one ship, maybe over the years it was one ship per year, thats 600 ships, it could have been two ships a year, 1200 ships.  Thats is a lot of gold and silver.

Would the Inca empire have survived and built an even bigger civilization and threat to Spain, to the US.  Now they have to sell coca leaves to make a living .....  what happens if they combine the leaves with the poppy seeds ..... what kind of deliriant awaits us?

On another note, here in El Paso we have many unclaimed dogs 24000 a year.  They are euthanized ....killed.  Yet these animals are consumed in other countries as meals.  What would happen if we let them catch the dogs, butcher them and can them?   What would Jesus do?  What would the Bishop do?  Imagine some kit going to the pantry opening the door and having to choose between Rottweiler and chihuahua.

Im just brainstorming .... who wants to see another poor hungry child make it in this world....Im sure Jesus has his reason.
