Detroit

It seems that every time the subject of cities going bad, Chicago, Detroit are shown.  I mean the videos of the foreclosed properties, the properties abandoned long ago are shown.   I cant believe that the same properties are shown on the video news cast....are you listening Diane Sawyer.  I mean I even remember the rusty metal building.

We have lots of them in El Paso, the property values here have not gone down according to our taxing entity.  In fact they say our unemployment is down but they keep increasing the property taxes.  So why wont the taxing entity by the property at the valuation they established.  When I have gone down there to have my property value reduced .... they laugh at you.  I cant tell you what a fit this causes me.

Anyway back to Chicago ..... the neighborhoods, are abandoned, due to foreclosure, the properties are not kept up, some of them are falling and unsafe but they dont get condemned.  The owners, banks etc.  Dont knock them down, dont clean the grounds, the city doesnt keep up the streets, so the place looks like what it is
Abandoned.

If the property is abandoned, why not give the property to people and let them rebuild.  I mean it isnt being taxed, and if it is, the banks are not paying it, so no income is realized.  If the property is given away the new owners have to build, the city can tax.   The banks have already written off the property at a loss and they are not getting any money.  Not that it would make a difference, banks for the most part are thieves. Many of the banks are responsible for the collapse of our economy.  Yet people still do business with them.  With the downturn in the stock market today and the loss in wealth, retirement is not possible.

But a lottery for the properties, would give people the edge to get them on their feet, and it would give the city income.  Eminent Domain can be used to recover the properties, then they are given away by lottery, and the money begins .... because the owner can now sell the property, except to the bank.

Here in Texas, Lubbock is now the center of the new Dust Bowl .....  You remember the "Grapes of Wrath", well its happening again.  Those people will have to move away ..... they cant live in the sandy environment, because they cant breath, children cant because they develop asthma, and traffic, doesnt run so good in zero viability.

Now before you say no, remember this.  When people get old and they are placed in a nursing home ... the attorneys still send them summons.  Now the old people dont show up at court and the properties are confiscated.  So you see, thieves,   their everywhere.
