Joe, u evidently sent th report to th wrong address, it says; Dear Friend. We r not friends u r my state senator. Let me bgin by sayin that we can b friends if n only if u stop sendin me reports in Spanish. As u know when th country was first founded, our citizens spoke many tongues. They new that this would create problems in communication n that th cost of communicatin would b more than they were willin to pay. So by one vote they chose English over German. So English is th official language of this great country n th Lone Star State. I recall u took ur oath in English. Bsides it isnt propitious to go bilingual on us when u never brought it up bfore th election.
U actually do ur spanish speakin supporters a disservice, their inability to speak English will cost them jobs. Businesses dont want to come to El Paso bcause th avg education is 9.5 years. When I test children's visual acuity in th ER, spanish speakin 3rd graders dont know th alphabet. We have to use pictures....these kids know one letter in English n one in Spanish. Your actions will mortgage these kids lives .... so please reevaluate ur position for their sakes.
Th adult literacy program is a failure....as is th bilingual program....as is the GED en espanol. If u were to send these adults to Mexico or Cuba or Argentina or any of th Spanish Speaking Countries....they would fail there also. I realize that with a name like Rodriquez u feel an obligation to los pobrecitos....but ur efforts will insure that they remain unprepared to overcome th global challenges that confront us today. I ask that u watch th video on UTube, "did you know?". N read th blog on th alphabet.
Taxin th military population at Ft. Bliss is not supportin th troops. It will hurt th troops n make those things they buy more xpensive. Lets see they buy pins for their hats, to show pride in their units, they buy baseball caps with their theater ribbons. They buy military paraphernalia.
Givin th survivin spouse a 100% xemption from property taxes is insane. People that r not vested in their government .... will not participate in th election process. They wont care if ur name is Joe or Jose u can share this with Senator Leticia Van de Putte. I am a disabled Veteran n share this distinction with many members of my family .... I dont recall anyone askin our opinion.

U want th schools to hire police officers n u want th county hospital to hire police officers. Sir this is a ridiculous idea, a budget nightmare. We already have city police, n a very corrupt police department. Retired Sgt Marquez sent an innocent man to jail n this will cost th taxpayers, 7 police officers have quit bcause they were misappropriatin grant money, we fired one guy bcause he was rapin victims of domestique violence, he didnt pass his xam, the police lab lost its permit to conduct test, they r incompetent.
EPCC has its own force, they give students tickets for parkin over th line, EPPS have their own police, Texas Tech has its own police, UTEP has its own police, we have FBI, ICE, Texas Rangers, Border Patrol, DEA, county sheriff, constables, EPPD, Fire Marshal, n th list goes on. Half of the city budget is for EPPD, n Fire Department. They r union n hold th city hostage.
Th education problem cannot b fixed with money. If the schools r going to lose $113 million, then provide only 3 years of HS. Close half of th EPCC buildings. knock down Zavala elementary, Houston, La Jeff. These schools dont have the student pop. th bldgs r old n they r not energy efficient. BTW I graduated from La Jeff in 67. I graduated from EPCC.
U can also throw out the illegals from the schools, cut the number of buses, let the obese kids walk, close the parks that are not used, merge the public library with the school library. merge the parks with the school playgrounds. Cut the electric companies rate.
U can stop screwin around with La Fe. They r rich....Rich!!!! They got millions of dollars from the tabaco lawsuits and have invested it. In fact La Fe owns Nursewise, part of Superior. Under contract with Superior La Fe turned over management of Nursewise to Centene Corporation. A billion dollar company that doesnt pay its bills in El Paso.
