Flu....Bird Flue

Before me is an email with the names of many important people, none the least of which is my wife, who is in charge of one of 6 world wide BSL3 labs.  

This is about bird flu, aka, avian influenza, aka, H5N1 and the resurgence of the highly pathogenic mutant strain of the deadly bird flu.  FYI the regular flu kills a lot of people mostly those very old and very young, and those with compromised immune systems.  This is why they tell you to get vaccinated.

Historically, in 1917 during WWI, we got an epidemic of bird flu.  Many people in this country died.  You can look for the pictures of police and other emergency personnel wearing mask.  You can read the stories and newspaper articles about the tragedy.  So if you are still concerned with past events like 911, you need to come about because this epidemic will kill more than 3000 people.   The facts are that in NYC parents would die and the children would drag their bodies to the street to get picked up on wagons, for mass disposal.  The utilities were shut down because the operators died and no one knew how to turn the power on.  Our ship was ready to transport 5000 troops to Europe and a presidential order was given to proceed, with the knowledge that if one of those troops was infected....all would die.  In fact most of our troops in WWI died in the trenches from the flu.  More troops were lost to the flu than to the war.   

Now getting the flu shot will not guarantee that you will survive the infection....but if the vaccine does its job and you get the flu, it wont be as bad and your chances for survival are better.  So get the shots! 

Today there are many parents who refuse to get vaccinated because they think that vaccinations cause autism.   These people are wrong, wrong!  However if they dont vaccinate their kids they will risk the lives of the student population.  

I tell you this because you are the government and if you dont act to get some prevention going you will have no one to blame but yourselves.  So get the schools involved, get the children vaccinated, get yourself vaccinated, get the illegals vaccinated, get the school nurses to educate kids and parents.   

A few cases have been reported due to eating contaminated poultry. 

So what is your public response? 

Oh and to be sure silver, in a colloid suspension, in the humidifier, and breathing treatments with silver will help.  Demand that stocks of Tamiflu are adequate, this is especially true for healthcare workers.
