Guns & Police

If memory serves me the average gun shot person that ends up on the pathologist table, was shot twice.  Two shots are enough to kill a person.  Yes you can make a case for shooting more than twice, but the evidence is clear, two shots.

Now, most police officers are armed with automatic pistols, loaded with a twenty round-magazine, and carry another two twenty-round magazines, so they dont run out.  They usually have a shotgun in the trunk and some even have AR15s.

They have a radio for backup, and in fact should not get into a fire-fight out in public streets unless the shooter is doing like wise.  Doing so endangers the public and can make things worse if an innocent child is mortally wounded.  This is especially true when white officers shoot black people.

Seven shots are excessive under any circumstances given the science.  It is especially unnecessary when the person being arrested is unarmed.  The officers have mace, they have teasers, they have a baton, they have choke holds, these are suppose to be used when executing an arrest, the pistol is there to defend their own lives.

If the officers life is in danger, by a gang, people with automatic weapons, then he is allowed to draw his gun in self-defense.  He can also withdraw a safe distance and wait for help, before triggering a fire-fight in the middle of public streets.

So should the grand jury indict the white police officer in Ferguson, absolutely.  He has no business carrying a gun, and he is unable to do what he is paid to do, to protect and to serve.

That white officer BTW is a dead man in the town of Ferguson. The citizens of that community can demand his termination and can put a reward on his head.

The black teenager's guilt or innocence is irrelevant, since the officer acted as judge, jury and executioner.
Obviously, he has paid a great price for any crime he may have committed.
