The Soviet Union is located above the artic circle, so during the winter their ports are closed. Crimea has the only warm water port and it has always been, is now and will be in the future, a Russian port.
Puttin cant afford to let Russia shut down because the polictics in the Crimea or the Ukraine flip flop and threaten the economy of Russia. Again it is the only warm water port.
They will fight to the death for this port! US on the other hand has been at war for years, these war have almost bankrupt the US. Only 1% of the population serves, so how exactly are we going to keep Russia out of the Crimean. Stop embarrassing yourselves US.
Why are not our journalist aware of the problem? Why are our people illiterate?
