Went to San Antone for the holidays to celebrate with the kids. The weather was bad, over two weeks and the sun never came out. We had rain, sleet, fog and cold. I guess Im just spoiled.
When we got home there was snow on the ground.
Anyway while in Alamo City, we went to Salt Lick, the barbecue there the first time was unbelievably delicious. But this time, the BBQ sucked and really not consistent with the $300 dollar bill.
We went to the CheeseCake Factory and the silver wear was dirty, I made sure it wasnt just some water spots, it was dirty! Again this is a place that is not cheap .... so Im putting the restaurants on notice.
The coffee at the CCF is not tasty ..... this is not the first time. The Kids laugh because they say I send it back? I like the coffee at Dunking Donuts ..... its good. I dont like the coffee at MacDs because it is served so hot, you cant enjoy it with the meal, it takes a good thirty minutes before you can take a sip. Im glad I didnt spill it on my crotch .... that could be dangerous.
Anyway Merry Christmas everybody, I hope you got everything on your wish list. Happy New Year.
The flu has hit hard and some have succumbed to their mortality. I got my shot, vaccine and tried to get one of my nieces to get the shot. She said she never has gotten it and never had the flu. To me this is like playing Russian Roulette. The flu virus has virulence and it gets stronger each time it finds another victim.
This leads me to my next invention ..... health cards for vaccines, buy a flu shot for someone, or a pneumovax, or shingles, or meningitis. The HPV vaccine is also a good vaccine to get, if you plan on getting some. This might be a good way to keep people healthy and out of the hospital ..... we might insist that foreigners get a flu shot before they get a boarding pass, get them at the airport.. Not just foreigners but indigents.
In Texas vaccine are not medications, this was done deliberately so anyone can give the shots during epidemics. I got mine at Walgreens and this is not the first time, but the pharmacist done have the technique right.
First they use an insulin syringe, with a small needle. On one occasion the guy pulled on the syringe and left the needle in. I tried to splain to him the proper way, but he said that everyone has a different way of doing it. I told him we dont want everyone doing their own way ..... we want standardization. The syringes should be preloaded so pharmacist dont screw it up. It is also more xpedient. I think the entire thing took an hour .... they waited until they had three lined up.
Allergies dont seem to be a problem because you dont have to wait in case you have a reaction. The insulin syringe, with the insulin needle leads to increase pressure and pain at the site. The syringe should be a 3cc syringe, with a 22 gauge needle and 1 1/2 inch length. Fat arms will require longer needles, skinny arms will require shorter needles.
Oh and nurses the USArmy has been using shot-guns for giving mass immunizations for years without incident. The solution is shot with air pressure. No pulling back on the plunger to see if you didnt hit an artery. First no artery should be there, second major veins should be avoided and venules dont count. So stop pulling back on the plunger as you are taught because it isnt necessary. And nursing instructors this is for you especially dont be telling people they have to do this.
